    Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a part-time benefits professional to join our Human Resources Department.


    The individual in this position will play an integral part in the department working as part of the Total Rewards team to help administer the company's standalone health and welfare plan and/or retirement benefit plans, policies, and processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    • Assist with the management and administration of external benefit vendors to ensure systems are in place and accurate and quality service is provided. Includes utilizing external benefits consultants on plan design, requests for proposals, contract management, and cost management.
    • Administer the company's benefits plans including health & welfare programs, defined benefits and defined contributions plans, and disability plans, along with conducting necessary updates to SPDs and applicable plans.
    • Coordinate external and internal benefits audits to identify issues and/or inconsistencies, and take appropriate action to address, resolve, and prevent recurrence of those issues.
    • Perform benefits plan communications, both written and verbal, and conduct onsite benefits presentations.
    • Support the development and implementation of training programs for managers and employees on benefits and the Total Rewards program.
    • Assist with coordination and support of annual wellness events, such as benefits vendor fairs, onsite screenings, online program, flu shots, and other wellness programs.


    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management/Administration, or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
    • A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
    • Professional certification in benefits strongly preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership/project management skills preferred.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements.  In order to work at BPMI, applicants must complete a Federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.


    BPMI is a prime contractor for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). We are a project engineering organization responsible for providing design, manufacturing, and procurement management for the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of high quality nuclear power plant components for installation in submarines and aircraft carriers.
