  • Overview

    Bechtel Plant Machinery. Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a supplier security specialist.


    • Work with BPMI and Naval Nuclear Laboratory procurement organizations to ensure the appropriate security requirements are in contractual documents, ensuring the protection of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI).
    • Coordinate with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program suppliers in establishing and monitoring their security programs.
    • Review and approve security plans submitted by NNPP suppliers detailing their plan to control NNPI under their stewardship.
    • Conduct audits of supplier compliance with security requirements as defined in contractual documents and the approved supplier security plans. Specific area of focus may include but are not limited to cyber security, information security, and physical security.
    • Coordinate and provide timely responses to supplier security issues as necessary to ensure the protection of NNPI, including working with suppliers to take the necessary remediation actions to directly address reported issues.
    • Team with equipment departments, IT, suppliers, and other government agencies to achieve commonality across the NNPP and to support effective security at all suppliers.
    • Maintain currency on security issues and ideas: conduct research into new concepts, equipment, or methods to provide appropriate recommendations to address current security vulnerabilities and mitigate future supplier security issues.
    • Work closely with suppliers to address vulnerabilities identified via supplier security audits and/or supplier network vulnerability scans.
    • May perform other duties, special projects, or related non-essential functions, as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems/Assurance, Cyber Security, or related field from an accredited college or university
    • Minimum of two years of relevant experience (advanced degree may be considered in lieu of some years of experience)
    • Previous experience in security or compliance auditing
    • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
    • Frequent travel to supplier facilities (up to 50% travel)
    • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements. In order to work at BPMI, applicants must complete a Federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.
