Overview

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking an associate accounting assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the basic flow of accounts payable invoices and other accounting records from receipt through final approval
  • Oversee proper archiving and storage of company financial data
  • Process prime contract invoices via an automated accounting system
  • Prepare accounts payable lots for material invoices and assignment to the appropriate billing period, initiate lots for immediate payments and wire transfers
  • Reconcile ledger accounts and review financial system reports for expenditure errors or problems and correct as necessary
  • Prepare and distribute various related reports; transmit faxes to vendors
  • Collect and process company and vendor checks, maintain security, provide collection receipts, input and distribute checks, and reconcile
  • Provide support for financial audits through the collection of information under purview
  • Perform other basic accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting or business with a minimum of 6 to 8 credit hours in accounting.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Must be able to articulate basic accounting knowledge.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements. In order to work at BPMI, applicants must complete a Federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.

BPMI is a prime contractor for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). We are a project engineering organization responsible for providing design, manufacturing, and procurement management for the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of high quality nuclear power plant components for installation in submarines and aircraft carriers.
