Overview

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a nondestructive test (NDT) engineer.

Responsibilities

Job Description/Duties:

  • Develop and implement unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures for understanding material conditions.
  • Perform and/or coordinate field inspections of installed components using advanced or automated inspection techniques.
  • Provide technical direction and leadership for inspection development, procurement, and deployment initiatives.
  • Communicate and interact extensively with suppliers, component designers, and management personnel.
  • Represent BPMI at technical meetings with suppliers, other prime contractors, shipyards, and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program representatives.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills:

 

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the development and application of nondestructive test techniques, with emphasis on ultrasonic test techniques.
  • Experience using automated data acquisition and analysis systems and directive nondestructive inspection development or application projects is desirable.
  • ASNT (or equivalent) NDT Level lll certification in PT, MT, RT, and/or UT is desirable.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or related science from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements.  In order to work at BPMI, applicants must complete a Federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.

 

BPMI is a prime contractor for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP).
