Overview

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a network engineer.

Responsibilities

Job Description/Duties:

  • Design, operate, and maintain local and wide area networks for a large-scale worldwide government enterprise. 
  • Perform long-term design and growth planning, as well as day-to-day operations and maintenance, troubleshooting, resolving network issues, and connecting new sites.
  • Design, operate, and maintain networks at various classification levels, including encrypted WAN traffic using National Security Agency (NSA) Type 1 encryptors (e.g., General Dynamics KG-175 TACLANE).
  • Interface with network site technicians and engineers on a frequent basis regarding network operations and planning.
  • Develop and follow formal documentation of network systems, including drawings, configuration control management, network information databases, and change control procedures.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills:

 

  • Two to five years of experience is preferred.
  • Certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCND, Network +) preferred.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements.  In order to work at BPMI, applicants must complete a Federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.

 

BPMI is a prime contractor for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). We are a project engineering organization responsible for providing design, manufacturing, and procurement management for the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of high quality nuclear power plant components for installation in submarines and aircraft carriers.
